The Paradise model used here is a new offering from the pool manufacturer. In this setting, it belongs to a woman who had been teaching water aerobics at an Ohio fitness center. However, she twisted her knee, and while rehabilitating it, she discovered the benefits of water exercise for herself. She and her husband spend the winter months at this community in Florida, and being out of the water aerobics for that period of time made her "feel grumpy". This new Paradise model was perfect for the couple because of its smaller size (11 by 16 feet) but is still large enough to accommodate her class of three students, who are other winter residents. They enjoy the smooth finish of the fiberglass pool while the couple has found it's easy to maintain, leaving them more time for exercise.

Pools of Fun |
|
While many hotels and resorts offer spas in rooms, this get-away destination provides a twist on that: Each guest has immediate and private access to an in-room pool. The pools are surrounded by several amenities. Shown here, a floral planter hanging over the 11-by-16-foot pool--aptly named the Paradise model--doubles as a fountain, trickling into the pool with a gentle shower effect. Plus, users can relax in the enclosed, adjacent steam room or lounge poolside in patio furniture, on the safety-coated rubber decking. A mural with a tropical scene and a mirrored wall give each room a far-from-Indianapolis feeling, as well as the illusion of having even more space. The sound of the water falling into the pool furthers this illusion.

FAR WEST POOLS |
|
With a view of a golf course and mountains already in place, building a pool in the backyard seemed natural.A wrought-iron fence was installed to secure privacy without compromising the view. The 11-by-16 foot Grecian-style pool has depths ranging from 3 feet, 6 inches to 4 feet, 6 inches. There is a built-in bench in the pool's shallow end. Cobalt blue waterline tile and tan brick coping enhance the project's natural surroundings. A lighter texture concrete deck was chosen. Flowering potted plants, attractive lanterns and contemporary furniture help make this backyard inviting to the homeowners and their guests.

The dilemma facing the owners of this pool was that the home’s previous owners had left behind landscaping that the new owners were loathe to disturb – even though they wanted to add a pool. Limited access added to the challenge. The solution is this 11-by-16-foot clover-shaped pool, which was alternately hand carried and rolled on PVC ramps to the site. Care was taken not to disturb the sporadically placed fountains, tropical plants and natural stone pathways surrounding the pool area and weaving throughout the yard. The pool itself has two bench seats on opposite sides of the steps in the shallow end. Each bench has three therapy jets. Meanwhile, the pool deck follows the pool’s contours and its sand-colored coating blends with the pebble used in the back yard. And the pool’s rose-colored waterline tile helps it blend into the landscape as if it had grown right along with the foliage.
